About the assistant

This assistant provides general cemetery information from a reviewed set of answers. It is not a member of cemetery staff and cannot make arrangements, reserve plots, confirm ownership, or issue deeds.

Answers and sources

Basic information mode matches your question to prepared answers. When AI-assisted matching is enabled, OpenAI helps select relevant topics; the displayed facts still come from the cemetery’s reviewed information. The assistant labels the mode used and includes source or contact links. Plot prices and visitor policies are supplied by the cemetery. For plot availability, purchases, or documents, contact the cemetery. Laurel Grove handles site marking and flagging. No interment, including the interment of cremated remains, may take place without prior arrangements with Laurel Grove Cemetery for site marking and proper record keeping. All other funeral, burial, and memorial services must be arranged with independent providers. Read the burial arrangements and responsibilities notice.

Your questions

Ask general questions only. Please do not enter private family information, deed details, payment information, or other sensitive material. Questions are sent to the cemetery’s server. When AI-assisted matching is enabled, the current question is also sent to OpenAI for processing with response storage disabled. That setting does not mean the provider retains no operational data. OpenAI’s data practices explain its retention policies.

The chat does not write message transcripts to application storage. The visible conversation stays in the open page and can be cleared with “Clear conversation” or by reloading the page. Standard hosting access logs may be maintained by the hosting provider. To limit abuse, the server keeps short-lived request counts keyed to a hashed network address; network counters reset on the next request after the hour changes; the AI usage count resets on the next request after midnight UTC.

Deeds and plot records

Deeds, ownership details, and individual grave locations are not connected yet. The assistant will direct record questions to cemetery staff or independent historical research resources.
